Mont Blanc Granite Guidebook – Val Veny

Mont Blanc Granite Guidebook – Val Veny

This is a selective rock climbing guidebook covering the Val Veny area from the Aiguille du Chatelet to the Tour de Jethoula. The Val Veny area is on the Italian side of the Monte Blanc range, and includes the long Brouillard, Innominata and Peuterey ridges.  These routes, along with the Brouillard Pillar, Freney Pillar and the west face of the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey are major alpine undertakings that require experience, fitness, acclimatisation, and mountaineering experience.

The guidebook describes 116 routes in 3 main areas, which are Monzino, Borelli, and Skyway, which are then subdivided into 15 sectors.  For each sector there is approach information, a map, and a description of the character and style of climbing to be found.

In total 116 routes are described.  For each route there is a pitch-by-pitch description, recommended gear, information regarding presence/absence of in-situ gear, and descent information. All the routes are shown on a mixture of colour photo topos and detailed topos that are spread across a number of pages.

Published in June 2023 this guidebook is in English text throughout.

Number of pages is 260.
