This guidebook describes 7 selected mountaineering routes to the top of the Dome de Neige and Barre des Ecrins, the two most iconic summits of the Dauphine Alps.

The guidebook covers both classic and secluded routes in the Ecrins Massif. The Vallouise face provides the classic routes of Dome de Neige des Ecrins, Barre des Ecrins, and Barre Noire Couloir. Whilst the Veneon face provides the secluded routes of Grand Traverse of the Barre, Gaspard Route, Young Couloir, and Col des Ecrins. Here mountaineers can get away from the crowds.

Each route is described in great detail across 20 to 40 pages. There is a characteristic section describing the advantages and disadvantages of the route, plus numerous photo topos, and maps.

Published in July 2013 this guidebook is in English and French text throughout. It includes lots of practical advice on preparation, strategy and required gear for the alpine nature of climbing Dome de Neige and Barre des Ecrins.
